Yeadon®’s Most Recent Successful Project March 2005

In the winter of 2005, Yeadon manufactured and then completed the installation of our largest project-to-date at Le Dôme à Louis-Riel. This dome is North America’s largest air supported fabric structure (square footage of floor area) at a huge 133,705 square feet (12,4222 square meters), and houses an amazing indoor recreation facility that is made available to both the students at École Secondaire Publique Louis-Riel, as well as the general public.

The air structure is a whopping 605 feet long x 221 feet wide x 59 feet tall (184 meters long x 67 meters wide x 18 meters tall) and is a permanent installation at the Louis-Riel site. The dome is insulated to allow all-season use and contains the following:

  • an extensive indoor track & field complex
  • 4 lanes of 400 meter and 6 lanes of 110 meter “mondo” running track
  • throwing and jumping facilities
  • a full size sport field which can be divided into 3 smaller fields

For further information regarding the Louis-Riel dome please visit their website at: www.louis-riel.cepeo.on.ca/dome/dome.shtml. Please link to view the construction video of the Louis-Riel dome at: http://www.louis-riel.cepeo.on.ca/dome/Dome-web.avi.

Special recognition goes out to our sales agent Mr. Francois Denis (f.denis.qc@sympaticoca) for ensuring that this project was a tremendous success for both Yeadon and the École Secondaire Publique Louis-Riel.

The Louis-Riel dome is one of Yeadon’s biggest and brightest accomplishments so far and will provide the people of the Ottawa region with a beautiful, year-round indoor recreational facility.

Yeadon® appreciates the support of our valued and trusted suppliers who ensured that this project would be a success.
