Yeadon® World Tour: Greece - September 2005
The American College of Greece in Athens came to Yeadon with a problem; their gorgeous olympic size swimming pool that was located by their athletic facility on campus, was going unused in the cold winter months. Fortunately, the team at Yeadon had a solution!
With over 25 years of experience, our brilliant team designed and implemented a clear-span weatherproof Tedlar dome to house the swimming pool. Thanks to our engineering experts here at Yeadon, we were able to construct a dome that could be easily anchored to the existing facility and provide the hard-working students at the American College of Greece with a “year round swimming pool”.
The air supported structure above the pool is 192’L x 103’W x 29’H and is located at the Aghia Paraskevi Campus. The pool is Olympic size and is used by the college’s swim team and water-polo team, as well as by students for recreational use. Thanks to our dome, the facility can be used year-round and is a beautiful addition to campus-life in Athens.
